200MBB: Leroy Braxdale, member since 2000

There are a few good ways to get my attention, especially when it comes to including an MOA member as the guest on 200 Miles Before Breakfast. When Leroy Braxdale’s friend and riding buddy Rufus Maxfield (also an MOA member) reached out to say he thought Leroy would be a good guest, he told me that not only is Leroy over 90 years old, but he still rides two-up with his wife, Cleste, and is not only a WW2 veteran, but used to do aerobatics, crop dusting AND flew float planes in Alaska!  We got some of those stories and found out about how Leroy faced down some bandits in Mexico, so tune in and listen here!

200 Miles Before Breakfast is a podcast by, for and about the members of the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, where you get to know the MOA one member at a time. Listen or download with the embedded player below – and please subscribe! 200MBB is in all the major podcasting apps along with the MOA’s other podcast, Chasing the Horizon. If you know an MOA member we should profile on the podcast, please let us know via email and we’ll do our best to get them on the show. If you’re willing to interview them yourself, we’ll happily supply all the tools you need to make it happen!

  • What an incredible, fascinating, and inspirational interview!!

  • I had the pleasure of riding with Leroy for a day on a Steve Coburn Rolling Rally going to the Lima Ohio MOA national. Rain in the evening so we split a motel room instead of camping. I have missed only one national since then but have not seen seen him since.Hope to meet up in Great Falls. For sure he is one of the most interesting people l’ve ever met.
